Hyundai’s minivan, cars and sport utility vehicles are sold and serviced by more than 192 Hyundai dealerships nationwide. Established in 1983, Hyundai found a niche in the Canadian marketplace by providing well-built, yet affordable vehicles. Today, with a strong emphasis on research and development, Hyundai has grown into one of the best-selling foreign manufacturers in Canada by making quality, safety and design the top priorities.

Hyundai’s entry into the Canadian market was at a time when automobile manufacturers had abandoned the entry-level market in favour of high-end, high-priced vehicles, leaving a large void in the market. First-time car buyers such as college students and young families were not able to find adequate, value-equipped cars that met their needs, yet were priced within their economic means. The Hyundai Pony filled this void and as result was the most successful launch of an import car in Canada. Hyundai furthered its success with the launch of the Stellar in 1985 and the Excel in 1986. Hyundai continues to improve and expand its product line.
